Submit Your SAL (Stitch-A-Long) Policy & Guidelines
Effective Date: May 5, 2026
Chaos Cross Stitch Magazine proudly supports the growing Stitch-A-Long community and welcomes submissions for upcoming and active SAL projects that align with the magazine’s creative direction and audience.
This page explains the requirements, submission standards, promotional structure, and eligibility guidelines for SAL features submitted to Chaos Cross Stitch Magazine.
What Is a SAL?
A SAL, or Stitch-A-Long, is a scheduled cross stitch event where participants stitch a design together over time, typically through:
-
Weekly releases
-
Monthly releases
-
Mystery reveals
-
Seasonal events
-
Community-guided progress releases
-
Collaborative stitching experiences
Chaos Cross Stitch Magazine may feature both:
-
Upcoming SAL announcements
-
Currently active SAL projects
within dedicated sections of future magazine issues.
Our Goal for SAL Features
We want readers to discover exciting upcoming projects early enough to:
-
Prepare materials
-
Purchase supplies
-
Join community groups
-
Follow participating artists
-
Plan stitching schedules
-
Participate from the beginning of the SAL experience
During the magazine’s early growth period, our goal is to showcase SALs as far as six months in advance whenever possible.
Eligible SAL Themes
All submitted SAL projects must reasonably align with the established themes and artistic direction of Chaos Cross Stitch Magazine.
Eligible themes may include:
-
Witchy aesthetics
-
Gothic artwork
-
Cozy spooky themes
-
Cute creepy artwork
-
Dark humor
-
Vintage Halloween
-
Tattoo-inspired designs
-

-

-
Emotional or melancholic themes
-
Haunted aesthetics
-
Alternative artistic styles
-
Dark romantic themes
-

-
Occult-inspired aesthetics
-
Soft gothic themes
Not every SAL must be intense horror or heavily gothic. We intentionally support a wide range of spooky, alternative, emotional, whimsical, and creatively unconventional artwork.

Featured SAL projects should reflect reasonable quality and professionalism standards.
We strongly encourage:

However, Chaos Cross Stitch Magazine does not accept SAL projects primarily generated through:
-
Automated AI image generation
-
Minimal-effort image-to-pattern conversion
