These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the websites, digital magazines, downloadable products, online stores, subscriptions, archives, social media pages, and related services operated by Bone & Briar Holdings, including Chaos Cross Stitch Magazine (collectively, the “Services”).

By accessing, browsing, purchasing from, downloading from, contributing to, or otherwise using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you should discontinue use of the Services immediately.

• Contributor materials licensed to us

Purchasing or downloading content does not transfer ownership of intellectual property rights.

 

House Designs and Contributor Content

Chaos Cross Stitch Magazine may feature both official “house designs” owned by Bone & Briar Holdings and independently owned contributor-created works.

Commercial permissions regarding finished stitched items, pattern usage rights, redistribution restrictions, and contributor-owned intellectual property may vary depending on the ownership status of the design.

Users are responsible for reviewing and complying with all applicable licensing and usage restrictions associated with contributor-created works.

Limited Personal License

Unless otherwise stated in writing, digital products and magazine content are provided for personal, non-commercial use only.

You may:

• Download purchased files for personal use
• Print patterns for your own stitching projects
• Create physical stitched works for personal enjoyment
• Store backup copies for personal archival purposes

 

You may not:

• Redistribute digital files
• Share downloads publicly or privately
• Upload files to file-sharing websites
• Resell or sublicense digital content
• Reproduce magazine issues for distribution
• Modify and redistribute patterns
• Claim authorship of protected content
• Use content in mass commercial manufacturing
• Remove copyright notices or branding
• Convert content into other digital products for resale

Any unauthorized use may result in termination of access and potential legal action.

 

Commercial Use Restrictions

Unless explicitly authorized in writing, patterns, magazine assets, and digital downloads may not be used for large-scale commercial production, print-on-demand systems, manufacturing operations, or resale marketplaces.

Limited sale of finished handmade stitched items may be permitted where allowed by the specific pattern license, provided the item is personally handmade and appropriate credit is given where required.

Bone & Briar Holdings reserves the right to revoke permissions at its discretion.

 

User Accounts

Certain areas of the Services may require account creation.

Users are responsible for:

• Maintaining account confidentiality
• Restricting unauthorized access
• Keeping login credentials secure
• Ensuring account information remains accurate

You are responsible for all activity occurring under your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts at our discretion.

 

Digital Products and Downloads

Chaos Cross Stitch Magazine may offer digital magazines, downloadable patterns, PDFs, archives, bonus content, and related digital products.

Due to the nature of digital content:

• Delivery may occur electronically
• Downloads may have access limitations
• Files may be updated or revised periodically
• Availability of archived downloads is not guaranteed indefinitely
• Certain content may be retired, replaced, or removed

We are not responsible for user issues caused by incompatible software, outdated devices, printer limitations, third-party applications, or improper download/storage practices.

 

Pricing and Availability

Prices, product availability, release schedules, subscription offerings, and promotional campaigns may change at any time without notice.

We reserve the right to:

• Cancel erroneous orders

Payment Terms

Payments are processed through third-party payment providers including WooPayments, Stripe, and PayPal.

Bone & Briar Holdings does not directly store full payment card information or sensitive financial credentials.

By submitting payment information, you represent that you are authorized to use the selected payment method.

Failure to complete payment may result in cancellation or suspension of access.

 

Refunds and Chargebacks

All refund policies are governed separately under our Refund Policy and Digital Product Policy.

Unauthorized chargebacks, payment disputes made in bad faith, fraudulent claims, or abuse of refund systems may result in:

• Account suspension
• Permanent service restrictions
• Revocation of download access
• Legal collection efforts where applicable

 

Contributor and Submission Terms

Users who submit patterns, artwork, photography, tutorials, articles, or related materials to Chaos Cross Stitch Magazine represent that:

• They own or control the rights to submitted materials
• Submitted content does not infringe upon third-party rights
• Submitted materials are lawful and original
• They have authority to grant any licenses associated with publication

Submission does not guarantee publication or acceptance.

Bone & Briar Holdings reserves editorial discretion regarding all submitted materials.

Additional contributor agreements or licensing terms may apply separately.

Contributor submissions are additionally governed by separate contributor agreements and publication licensing terms.

 

User Conduct

Users agree not to:

• Violate laws or regulations
• Infringe intellectual property rights
• Distribute malware or harmful code
• Attempt unauthorized access
• Interfere with website functionality
• Harass or threaten others
• Impersonate individuals or entities
• Engage in fraudulent activity
• Scrape or harvest website data
• Circumvent security measures
• Abuse customer support systems
• Use the Services for unlawful purposes

We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access for conduct that violates these Terms.

 

Community and Social Media

Interactions on social media pages, comment sections, groups, newsletters, or community spaces associated with Chaos Cross Stitch Magazine must remain respectful and lawful.

We reserve the right to remove comments, restrict participation, or ban users for conduct deemed abusive, harmful, defamatory, discriminatory, spam-related, or disruptive.

 

Copyright Complaints

Bone & Briar Holdings respects intellectual property rights and expects users to do the same.

If you believe your copyrighted material has been used improperly, you may submit a copyright complaint including:

• Identification of the copyrighted work
• Identification of the allegedly infringing material
• A statement of good faith belief
• A statement made under penalty of perjury regarding accuracy and authority

We reserve the right to remove disputed material while claims are reviewed.

Bone & Briar Holdings is not responsible for third-party content, policies, availability, or business practices.
